Follow the steps in your mobile app or web browser to start your HHO on the Go online doctor visit.
Similar to WhatsApp, Skype, and FaceTime, HHO on the Go lets you meet people on the internet. In this case, you can visit a doctor. An online doctor visit can be made the same day by booking a visit on the app or website. About 15 minutes before your visit starts, you’ll receive an email with a direct link to your session. Follow the link to enter your member information and electronically sign a consent form. Your health care provider will be notified and will join you.
Online doctor visits are used when it’s not an emergency. Some conditions that can be treated over the internet are allergies, asthma, animal or insect bites (minor), bronchitis, colds, cough, COVID-19 symptoms, flu, mild fever, earache, headache, nausea, pink eye, eye infection, poison oak, poison ivy, rash, skin infection, sinus infections, sore throat, laryngitis, sprains and strains, and urinary tract infection (UTIs).
Highmark Health Options members age 18 and older can use online doctor visits for mental health care. Therapists provide online counseling for anxiety, depression, stress, LGBTQ topics, life transitions, and more. Psychiatrists provide diagnosis and medication management services online for ongoing conditions like bipolar disorder, eating disorders, depression, insomnia, OCD, panic attacks, and PTSD. Online doctor visits are also available for people seeking treatment for addiction.
HHO on the Go visits are available at no cost to Highmark Health Options members.
For the best connection, use the HHO on the Go app on your smartphone or tablet. It’s compatible with Apple and Android devices. Connect over Wi-Fi and close all other apps. Don’t forget to double-check that your camera and microphone are working.
On your laptop or desktop computer with internet connection, Google Chrome is the preferred browser, but Microsoft Edge and Firefox are also compatible.
Any Highmark Health Options member qualifies for an urgent care online doctor visit. Therapy and psychiatry are available only to Highmark Health Options members age 18 and older.
If your doctor or other health care provider prescribes medicine, the prescription will be sent electronically to your pharmacy, where you can pick it up. This is the same way medicines are prescribed during an in-person visit. Narcotics may not be prescribed during an online doctor visit.
